James Cullen

DeForest - James F. "Jim" Cullen, age 74, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on August 28, 1941, in Columbus, Wisconsin the son of Ellen (Montegue) and Edward Cullen. Jim was united in marriage to Kathleen Miller on July 22, 1978. He worked for MG&E for 35 years retiring in 2001. Jim loved his wife and son more than anything and was proud of his Irish heritage. He loved sports cars, (which he passed down to his son), the Chicago Bears and Cubs and any and all sports on television. He loved his Corvette and was an avid golfer. Jim & Kathy shared their time with many dear friends. Evenings were often spent over a game of cribbage with an Old Fashioned.

He is survived by his wife; Kathleen Cullen; son, Kevin Cullen; brother, Tom (Kathryn) Cullen; nephews and nieces, Mike Cullen, Terry Dye, Joe (Kathy Ladwig) Cullen and Christine (Joey) Miller-Lusk; two grand nieces, Quinnlyn and Kenzley; sister and brother-in-law, Roger James and Nina Miller; sister-in-law, Judy Miller; and many wonderful friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Lloyd and Evalyn Miller and a brother-in-law, Gary Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Drive, Sun Prairie on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Donn Heiar and Monsignor Terrence Connors concelebrating. Burial will take place at St. Columbkille Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Monday, July 18, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
