James Harper

James "Jim" Michael Harper, age 76, passed away on October 20, 2014. He was born on July 17, 1938, the only child to Bette Barrett Minz in Milwaukee. Jim was married to Kathleen Karow on June 2, 1973 at Madison Gospel Tabernacle, and they were married for 41 years. Jim lived and worked most of his life in Madison. Jim worked at Oscar Mayer for 37 years. Kathy and Jim lived most of their married life at Oak Park Terrace on Madison's north side. But, recently they moved to Cottage Grove and resided at Aster Retirement. Jim is survived by his wife Kathy; his cat Tiger; a niece Christina Viken- Harvey; nephew William Viken and their families. Jim was preceded in death by his mother Betty and his wife's parents Leora and William Karow.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 12:00pm at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie with the Reverend Chris Lee- Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30pm until time of service.
