Madison - James E. Hazard passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on Friday, July 29, 2011 while at Oak Park Place after a brief illness.
James was born on July 17, 1927 in Arlington, WI, the only son of Clayton and Mabel (Evert) Hazard. He graduated from Madison East High School.
James served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army.
On July 15, 1948, Jim married Ruth Josi. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2009.
James is survived by his only daughter, Pamela Hazard. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Mabel and his wife, Ruth.
James worked for many years for Yellow Truck Lines in Madison and later at Unocal Oil (formerly Pure Oil) and in 1957 was transferred to Arlington Heights, IL. In March of 1992, James retired from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Oak Park Place, Meriter Hospital and HospiceCare for their care they provided to my Dad.
Funeral services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Ken Henkel will officiate. A visitation will also be held Roselawn Chapel from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
