Jim was called home by his Lord on Wednesday Feb.18, 2015, after a battle with leukemia.
He was born in St Louis, Missouri, January 3, 1947. He lived in Ohio, and later in Ft Atkinson where he went to high school, graduating in 1964. He went on to college and graduated from Milton College in 1969. He was drafted into the Army, May of 1969, and attained the rank of E5 while serving in Kentucky, Louisiana, Kansas, Madison and Germany, in the 2 years he served. He initially was in the infantry and later was transferred into personnel and administration.
He always felt he was the luckiest person on earth being blessed with his loving wife, Trish, his children, Matthew, Lacey, step daughter Ashley, and Lliam, his grandson. He was also blessed with a wonderful sister, Peg, of Prescott, Arizona, his nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews also played a integral part in his life as did the many friends he was blessed with. He always felt he was rich, not monetarily, but friendship wise, and thanked the Lord daily for all of these wonderful people in his life. He has a brother Ed, from Polson, Montana.
He enjoyed golfing, having golfed at St Andrew's, LaTrobe, where he met his idol, Arnold Palmer, Pebble Beach, and many other incredible courses. He was fortunate to have enjoyed the elusive hole-in-one in 2004. Travel was also a love of his, having travel to all 50 states, and over 20 countries. Investing was a priority which he enjoyed. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed his computer.
Jim's last wishes were to express his love for Trish, Matthew, Lacey, Ashley, Lliam, his family and friends, and thank them for making his life more enjoyable than one could ever expect.
His life was a blessing with them in it and he thanked God daily for them.
He was preceded in his death by his father, Maxwell, and mother, Myrtle, of Fort Atkinson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trish, son Matthew Holland (Candi), daughter Lacey (Francisco) and his grandchildren.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Eliot Williams, Kristian, Julie and all the
incredible people at UW Cancer Unit. Also a special thank you to Dr. Marina Konapleva,
at MD Anderson, in Houston.
