James Koran

SUN PRAIRIE – James L. Koran age 58, died on Saturday May 30, 2020 at home. He was born on September 14, 1961 in Racine, WI, the son of Susan L. Koran and the late Richard L. Koran. Jim graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1980 and received his Associate Degree from Madison Area Technical College in 1982. Jim worked for Motion Industries for more than 20 years.

Jim’s children meant the world to him and were all he talked about. He was very proud of Kyle’s accomplishments in school and life. It made Jim happy to bond with Eric about all things outdoors. Jim loved to watch Christine when she performed on the ice. Jim was a lover of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved his dogs. Jim liked to golf, bowl, watch NASCAR and was a cooking enthusiast.

He is survived by his mother Susan Koran of Sun Prairie, WI and step-mother Diane Koran of Bloomfield Hills, MI; his children Kyle, Eric and Christine, their mother Michelle Koran; his brother Steve (Missy) Koran of Waupaca, WI and half-sister Julie Koran of Orlando, FL; a nephew Jakob Koran and nieces Maddy Sue and Amelia Koran; Uncle John (late Cyndi) James of Racine, WI and Aunts Val (Clois) Shook of Pinellas Park, FL and Barbara Koran of Racine, WI. Jim is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Richard L. Koran, paternal grandparents John and Gladys Koran, Frank Lenzke and maternal grandparents Arthur and Udine James.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie,  visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, on Tuesday June 16, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his children for their continued education.

Jim will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He is in our hearts forever.
