James J. Lobenstein

Deerfield- James J. Lobenstein, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his family.   He was a loving husband and dedicated father.   Jim worked hard all of his life and never complained about his job, he enjoyed driving truck for Tom Gullickson and Sons for 43 years.   He loved to garden, loved his dogs and took much pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Jim was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Cambridge.   He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lobenstein; five children, Karla (Charlie) Birkrem, Nancy Lobenstein, Jimmy (Janice) Lobenstein, Billy (Anne) Lobenstein and Larry (Candi) Lobenstein; four granddaughters; one grandson; two great granddaughters; brother, Conrad Lobenstein; and two loyal dogs.   Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister.   Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield, with Fr. Ron Rank officiating.   Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.   Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday.   The family would like to thank St. Mary's staff for their outstanding care and compassion.   We love you Jim.   You were the best husband and most amazing dad anyone could have asked for.   You will be missed.
