Madison- James F. Marschall, age 73, died at home Wednesday, April 30, 2014 of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Jim was born in Fond du Lac, WI. on March 7, 1941, the son of the late Walter and Esther (Haberkorn) Marschall. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1959 and received a B.S. in economics and accounting from the University of WI- Oshkosh in 1963. On July 14, 1965 he married Susan Geiger.
Jim had a long and rewarding career at Rayovac in various positions in finance and marketing, retiring in 2001. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and West Madison Kiawanis. He was an avid sports fan, golfer, lover of travel and proud grandfather.
Jim will always be remembered by his family and friends as an optimistic, generous, kind man who never lost his sense of humor.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sue, and his children Katie (Mark) Plesac, Paul (Becky) Marschall, Annie (Mark) Wyrobeck, and 5 grandchildren, Jenna and Lauren Plesac, Cali and Matthew Wyrobeck, and Henry Marschall; brothers Charles, Don (Carol), sister Gloria Zimmerman, sister-in-law Marcia (Ken) Keifenheim, and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon, sisters-in-law Bette and Wilma Marschall, and brother-in-law Rodger Zimmerman.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI. at 2pm with a visitation one hour prior with Rev. Carly Kuntz officiating.
A special thanks to everyone who donates blood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia/ Lymphoma Society.
