WAUNAKEE-James O. Martinelli, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his home. He was born on Feb. 20, 1926, in Madison to Felix and Aranka (Samual) Martinelli. He married Mary C. Schyska on April 30, 1949, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2005. James was a World War II Veteran and served in the Navy. He retired from Oscar Mayer following 42 years of employment of which he was very proud. Jim was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.
Survivors include his four children, Paula Martinelli of Madison, James (Jeanne) Martinelli of Chandler, AZ, Victoria (Phil Scanlan) Martinelli of Cambridge, and Mary Rule of DeForest; five grandchildren, Dana (Jeff) Reeder, Erica (Ted) Schwarz, and Dylan, Paige and Savannah Rule; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Rademacher, Logan and Shelby Reeder and Grace Schwarz. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Martinelli and three sisters-in-law, Pat, Jo and Lorraine Martinelli; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs. July 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. July 1, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friends may also call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
James' family would like to thank his wonderful neighbors for watching over and helping him for the past several years. It is greatly appreciated. James will be greatly missed by his entire family!
