James A. Quigley

James A. Quigley, age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at home. He was a 6 yr lung cancer survivor. James was born on July 15, 1938 in Chester PA . Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy for 18 � years as Chief Petty Officer. He was very proud of his service in the Navy and had received the Nation Defense Service Medal of Honor, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, Meritorius Unit Citation, the Armed Forces Expedition Medal, and numerous Good Conduct Medals. He was united in marriage to Barbara Anderson on May 21, 1990. Jim was employed as a Madison area realtor from 1975 until his retirement in 2004. In retirement Jim loved spending time with his wife, children, and cherished his grandchildren. He had a fabulous sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with his many friends. He was a kind, loving and generous man, and will be will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Jim is survived by his wife; Barbara Anderson, daughters; Lisa (Jeff) Quinlan, Nicole Adams, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Harry. A funeral will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, with visitation from 10:30 am until the time of service.
