James R. Anderson

Deforest – James R. Anderson, age 79, passed away from cancer on January 15, 2025 at the VA Hospital Hospice Center. Jim was born on July 19, 1945, the son of Meta and Harry Anderson. Jim would grow up in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin where he graduated high school in 1963.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jane; brothers, Keith and Dave (Colleen Cleary) Anderson; nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, July Pilger.

Jim, for many years enjoyed vacationing up north – fishing and golfing. Jim worked in real-estate until his retirement. Jim spent winters in Florida, enjoying the many walking parks, golfing and meeting other retirees. Jim loved his gardens. First at our Fitchburg house and then at the Sun Prairie Community Gardens. He donated a lot of his produce to the food pantry in Sun Prairie.

There will be a visitation at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 21, 2025. Memorials can be made to any Hospice organization or to the Sunshine Place-Food Pantry in Sun Prairie.
