James Rewey, age 80,  Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg, on December 9, 2010.  Jim was born on Nov. 12, 1930 in Marshfield, WI, the middle son of Hildur and Wendell Rewey.  In 1944 the Rewey family moved to Shorewood Hills in Madison.  Jim graduated from Wisconsin High where he participated on the football and tennis teams.  He was called into service during the Korean Conflict and spent the next four years as a Navy Medical Corpman.  He served overseas abroad  the Miles C. Fox, and the U.S.S. Menelaus.  On his return, he attended the University of Wisconsin where he received a B.S. in American Institutions.  While at the University he met his future wife, Barbara Normand.  In 1960 the were married in Madison where they later raised their three sons, Mark, Steve, and Scott.  Jim spent his entire career of 40 years as a stockbroker.  He joined the Milwaukee Company in the early 60's which later became RBC Wealth Management, and worked his way up to Senior Vice President.  The family joined Covenant Presbyterian Church in the  1960's.  Jim served as an Elder and deacon, taught Sunday School, and served as an usher.  Jim volunteered as a Red Cross driver, delivering and picking up blood for those who needed it.  Over the years he also volunteered as a tutor at Memorial High and Glen Stephens Elementary School where he was known as ""Mr. Jim.""  He was brought into Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Wisconsin Chapter, as an honorary member for the dedication to the fraternity that his sons had joined.  He served as President of the Housing Corp., and continued to serve on the board.  He enjoyed Badger football and attended the Madison Hall of Fame and the Mendota Gridiron Club.  He took up flying at 50, bought his own Cessna and flew for many years.  He delighted in gathering with his family and friends at the large cabin in Northern Wisconsin that he and Barbara designed.  He enjoyed camping with his sons and brother, Richard, building furniture, and traveling with Barbara.  He was very proud of his sons and daughter-in-laws,  and delighted in his grandchildren.  He was a generous man who quietly offered financial and emotional support to those who needed it.  Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara, sons Steven (Jennifer), Scott (Kirsten), and Mark (Dawn), and his grandchildren, Grace, Nicholas, Sophie, Anne, Thomas, Madison, and Mackenzie, and brothers Bill and Richard.  The family wishes to especially thank those who offered their love and support during this difficult time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made  to HospiceCare  Inc., 5395 E.
