Jim Sheridan of Middleton was born in Brooklyn, NY on September, 30 1938 to James Sheridan Sr and Mary (Hennelly) Sheridan and passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice Care Center on August 31 at the age of 84. He is survived by his dear loving wife of 29 years, Nancy, and children Jennifer Sheridan of Camas, WA, Kim Neil (Jeff) of Camas, WA, Matthew Sheridan (Jen) of Salt Lake City, UT, stepdaughters Kristen Tietz of Reedsburg, and Lisa Marien (Stephen) of Woodbury, MN. In addition, there are 12 surviving grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and only brother, Denis (Kathy) of New York, NY.
Jim graduated from Power Memorial Academy (New York, NY) in 1956 and received a BA from Iona College (New Rochelle, NY) in 1960. He started his career in sales management including Exxon Chemical plastic film and BF Goodrich vinyl products. In 1977 he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was president of Milprint and Koch Label, both companies owned by Philip Morris Industrial. He moved to Madison in 1983 as president of Springs Window Fashions in Middleton, where he worked for 11 years. From 2000 until 2015 he was a TEC Chair, advising a group of 16 local Dane County CEOs on business issues.
Jim and Nancy loved to travel in the States to both Coasts and to visit family members and friends. They took yearly trips to the Florida Gulf Coast during the winter months which they very much looked forward to. Jim and Nancy also enjoyed games and had many happy hours playing cards with friends and family whether it was Bridge or Euchre.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
