STOUGHTON--Jan A. (nee Mohrbacher) Cannady, age 67 passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Racine on August 7, 1945 the daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline (Cepukenas) Mohrbacher. She graduated from St. Catherine's High School in Racine, Class of '63. Following graduation, she moved to the Madison area and worked for AT&T as a phone operator until her retirement in 1994 after 30 years of service. Jan was a socializer. During her retirement, she enjoyed a part-time position as a receptionist at Stoughton Inn simply to continue her love of interacting with people. Jan loved lighthouses, traveling whenever possible, Friday night fish-fry's, and bowling.
She will be deeply missed by her two children, Kelly (Gary Dvorak) Cannady of Oregon, and Kevin (Jennifer) Cannady of Stoughton; 5 grandchildren, Cody Cannady and Dystiny Dvorak, and Lainee, Samantha, and Jackson Cannady; and her only brother, Jim (Marijo) Mohrbacher of Madison/Oconomowoc. She was preceded in death by family and many close friends.
A memorial service, celebrating Jan's life will be held at NOON on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St. Stoughton with Reverend Mark Petersen officiating. Family will greet friends from 10am until the time of service.
