Jane F. Heilman

March 31, 1922 — June 16, 2011

MADISON - Jane F. Heilman, age 89, passed away to join the love of her life, Dave, on June 16, 2011 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. Jane was born on March 31, 1922 in Ladysmith, WI., daughter of Frank and Mary (Anheir) Wenstadt. She was married to David D. Heilman of Madison on June 5, 1948. She moved to Madison in 1945, employed by the U.S. Armed Forces Institute. Prior to her retirement in 1987, Jane was employed by the Cuna Mutual Insurance Company. Her hobbies included music, playing cards, bingo, cooking, collecting cookbooks and playing the piano while entertaining her fellow residents at St. Mary's Care Center. She constantly supported all of her families various activities and seldom, if ever, missed one of their sporting events, musical concerts or performances. During retirement, she & her husband enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months in Naples, FL.

She is survived by her two children, Christine A. (Kenneth) Clark of St. Germain, David M. (Connie) Heilman of Madison; four grandchildren, Kenda (Dan) Head of Madison, Tara Potter of McFarland, Kent Murrish of Orlando, FL., and Dana (Jeremy) Stanford of Fond du Lac; six great grandchildren, Conley, Eann and Gwen of McFarland and Taylor, Abigail and Emily of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her husband Dave in 1995, her parents, and her first husband, Lt. Gerald W. Palmer, a fighter pilot killed during World War II.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Jane's nephew Father Rick Heilman presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.

The family would like to thank the staff at The HospiceCenter for their incredible care and expresses their love and gratitude to the entire administration and staff at St. Mary's Care Center for the tremendous love and care that Jane received over the past five years. Memorials may be made to The St. Mary's Care Center, 3401 Maple Grove Drive, Madison, WI. 53719. Jane was an amazing Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and her love and zest for life will certainly live on by all who knew and loved her.
