Jane Elizabeth Nosal

Jane Elizabeth Nosal passed away at home with her husband by her side, on November 22, 2024, at the age of 66. She married James (Jim) Nosal on November 29, 1985, and they were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Amy and Caroline. Despite significant tragedies, Jane consistently led her life as an example of service and perseverance.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on May 1, 1958, Jane was proud of her Irish heritage. After high school, she attended North Park College while working on the weekends to pay for her tuition. Jane continued to advance her education in nursing, eventually working in the intensive care unit with the most complicated patients and facilitating organ transplant donations. During her time at Rush University, she met her future husband Jim, who was also a medical student.

Jane and Jim settled in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin with their young family. Notwithstanding an injury that forced her into early retirement, Jane bestowed her family with a love of literature and, together with Jim, values of education and service. The Nosal home has always been a treasure trove of books and dreams of adventure.

The struggles to address the chronic pain of Jane’s injury were only ever overshadowed by the loss of her daughter Caroline (May 1, 1991 - February 2, 2016). And still, she continued to stay in touch with loved ones, offering support to others to her fullest abilities. Jane will be missed immensely by her family and friends, and they hold solace that her suffering has ended.

In Jane’s memory, please pay it forward to anyone who needs a hand, a good book, or a friend to walk among the trees with. 

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services, with a luncheon to follow.
