Janet Fuhrman

MADISON – On Aug. 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, Janet R. Fuhrman passed away at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. She was born on Sep. 20, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Martin and Justine Hebein.

Janet was loved and admired by all who knew her for her warm heart and generosity. She grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1948. She earned a BS in Home Economics and Science from Mount Mary University in 1954, and later a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she researched the special nutritional needs of adults recovering from certain medical conditions. She worked as a registered dietician for the Milwaukee County School District and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Milwaukee during her career. Janet enjoyed skiing, golf and swimming and will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to family and faith.

In 1963, Janet married Harold Fuhrman and settled down to raise a family in Brown Deer. They later retired to Madison. She is survived by her children, Ann C. Fuhrman, Mark H.T. Fuhrman, and Carol C. Shobrook. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Amy B.F. Tutwiler, her son-in-law, David M. Shobrook; and her grandchildren, Genevieve M. Fuhrman, Nicholas H. Fuhrman, and Jonathan A. Shobrook.

A visitation will be held at CHRIST KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2604 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa, on Saturday, Sep. 17, 2022, from 9:30-10:45 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.   Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield.  Memorial donations in Janet’s name can be made to The Catholic Diocese of Madison at 702 S.
