Janet B. Hutter

Oregon/Monona- Janet B. Hutter, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center.  She was born in Wisconsin Rapids on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1935, the daughter of Edgar and Olga (Bergman) Bird.  Janet graduated from Lincoln High School in WI Rapids in 1953 and from UW-Stevens Point in 1957.  In June of 1957 she married Russ Hutter.  Janet was a Kindergarten teacher in Nekoosa, Janesville and Madison throughout her career.  She was a devoted member of Lake Edge United Church of Christ in Madison for over 30 years.  Janet enjoyed going to Packer games with friends and family and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Through her encouragement Janet's love of music lives on in her children and their families.  Janet is survived by her three children, Geoff (Amy) Hutter of Phoenix, AZ, Kurt (Maryanne) Hutter of Belleville and Kim (Boomer) Whitmyer of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Jessica, Nathan, Brett, Kathryn and Madison; sister, Nancy Bird of Green Bay; and Russ Hutter of Rhinelander.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Lake Edge United Church of Christ, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, followed by a reception in the church Fellowship hall.  Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.  A special thank you to Janet's dear friend Sue for all of her care and support during this difficult time.
