Janet Maves

Fitchburg-Janet A. Maves, born Jan. 4th, 1927, in Milwaukee, passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg on Nov. 5, 2012 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of Herman and Elsa Brandenburg and the wife of Richard V. Maves, who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1969. A graduate of UW Madison in Business, Janet was a long time resident of Fitchburg where she raised 4 children: Kathleen, Lorraine, Andrew and Phillip. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Oregon, and Martha Circle, Oregon Town & Country Women's Club, Fitchburg Historical Society, Fitchburg Mothers' Club, Friends of the Fitchburg Library and Madison Packer Backers. She enjoyed football, cocktails, conversation, swimming, reading, walking, traveling, and spending time with her 7 grandchildren: Katrina, Jake, Woody, Nicole, Jason, Paige and Jeremy. She was blessed to have many wonderful friends.

There will be no funeral services as per her wishes. Memorials may be made to Friends of the Fitchburg Library or Fitchburg Historical Society, both at 5530 Lacy Rd., Fitchburg WI 53711, or to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Agrace and her many friends for supporting her during her brief illness. In Janet's words: Just let everyone know I am not available for bridge or walking anymore." And to Pam, she sends her best wishes to you and Annabelle!
