Madison- Janet (nee Mueller) Wengert, age 92 of Madison, was received by her Savior on Saturday, July 5, 2008.  She was born on April 17, 1916 in Milwaukee, the 12th child born to Martha Mae (Nee Besch) and Edward Phillip Mueller.   Janet attended Washington High School in Milwaukee and was then trained as a registered nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee.  She married Norman Irving Wengert (1916-2001) on October 9, 1940 in Madison.  Their wedding hymn and the pillar of their life together was ""Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me.""  Janet and Norm lived in many places across the country including Washington DC, Tennessee, New Jersey, Michigan and Colorado.  Janet graduated with a BA from Colorado State University, where she worked as a campus nurse.  She moved back to Madison 10 years ago.  Her hobbies included sewing and gardening.  She especially liked growing tomatoes and rhubarb.  Norm and Janet were parents of three children, Eugene (Barbara) Wengert, Madison; Christine (Paul) Davis, Los Angeles; and Timothy (Ingrid) Wengert, Riverton, N.J.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and daughter-in-law Barbara.  She is survived by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Rd., Madison, 53711 on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 3:00pm.  The Rev. Sheryl Erickson will officiate.  Burial will take place in Stoughton.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Foundation for support of Good Shepherd students attending Lutheran colleges, or to HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
