Janetta Pullum

March 28, 1949 — November 13, 2016

Janetta Fannie Pullum Bell was the eldest of four siblings; one sister, Marion Hambric who preceded her in death and two brothers, Donald Hambric and Jerry Rice, who also, preceded her in death. She was born on March 28, 1949 to the union of James Pullum and Geraldine Gay Pullum Hambric, who both preceded her in death.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age joining Prayer Center Church of God in Christ under the pastorate of Pastor Gregory Donald Gay. Janetta was educated in the Chicago Public School system, our family grade school, James McCosh. She attended Englewood High School and graduated from Britannica Academy.
Janetta was joined in holy matrimony to Michael Bell who preceded her in death. To this union two sons were born; Michael Gerald Bell and Froncisco James affectionately called "Fonzie" Bell. Her children were the original members of the "Ice Cream" Choir at the Prayer Center Church of God in Christ.
Janetta was an adventurous, jovial person and had a "happy go lucky" personality. She was a giving child. On one occasion she bought all the neighborhood children candy after receiving sudden increase in wealth from taking it out of her uncle's and cousin's piggy bank.
Janetta was raised in Chicago but later moved to Madison, Wisconsin where she met a host of friends and befriended many. In recent years she had numerous health challenges which she valiantly fought. Her life partner of thirty-five years, Brenda Faye Williams worked untiringly and served as a dedicated care giver and companion.
Janetta departed this life on Sunday morning, November 13th. She leaves to cherish her memory, her life partner Brenda Williams, two sons; Michael and Froncisco, seven grandchildren, one brother, Eld. Donald(Veronica)Hambric, one uncle, Pastor Donald(Margaret) Gay, two nieces, Charelle and Evelyn Alexander, two nephews, Matthew Hambric and Charles(Dontevia) Alexander and a host of other relatives and friends. Although Janetta has left our presence, she will always remain in our heart.
