Janice D. Bowman

Janice Dagney Bowman, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday November 1, 2024 with her loving family at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. The daughter of Niels Nielsen and Josephine (Comstock) Nielsen was born on April 2, 1941 with her twin sister Joyce Tobiason in St. Paul, MN. Janice married the love of her life, Philip Bowman on April 8, 1961 in St. Paul, MN and shared 53 wonderful years with him experiencing many adventures. Janice was blessed with a great childhood growing up alongside her 4 sisters, Sharon Gosiak, Joyce Tobiason, Kathy Aus, and Jonell Nightengale. She shared a beautiful bond with her sisters, as they are all each other’s best friends.

Janice was a lovely homemaker, successfully raising her twin boys Philip and Steven Bowman. Once her boys graduated, Janice spent over 20 years being a Sales Associate, employed by Sears Roebuck Co. at East Towne Mall in Madison, WI. Janice appreciated being in Bonita Springs, FL during the winter season with her family and friends at Imperial Bonita Estates where she had fun playing various games, bingo, and excelling at shuffleboard. Janice was an avid golfer in the summer and loved visiting a very special place named Camp Lake in Garrison, MN. It was her sanctuary to create everlasting memories with her parents, sisters, and other family members.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Philip Bowman, her parents Niels and Josphine, and eldest sister Sharon Gosiak. She is survived by her two sons, Philip Bowman and Steven Bowman; granddaughter Erica (Sean) Bowman; great granddaughter Dagney Bowman and a great-grandson arriving in March; sisters Joyce Tobiason, Kathy Aus, and Jonell Nightengale; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at her sanctuary on Camp Lake in Garrison, MN.
