Janice was born Aug. 21, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Douglas on July 21, 1973, and graduated the next year from St. Joseph's School of Nursing as a registered nurse (RN) in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Barron, WI, started their family, joined a cribbage club, and met life-long friends. They later settled in McFarland, WI in 1985 where she started working in hemodialysis. Janice loved nursing and treasured her wonderful friendships with co-workers and patients. Jannie most enjoyed the time she spent with friends and family, playing cards and games, quilting and sewing, traveling, gardening, kayaking, deer hunting, and hiking with her puppy, Rusty, in the woods behind their home in Blue Mounds. She was a dear, loving soul who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of all she touched.

Janice's family would like to thank the UW Hospital Oncology Unit, especially Dr. Schelman and his team, her caregivers at HospiceCare, and everyone at Gilda's Club for all the incredible care and support she received.
