Janice Lang

Sun Prairie-Janice N. Lang, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 8, 2011. She was born on April 29, 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ben and Norma (Mathewson) Lang. Janice graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Master's Degree in Library Science, and she worked for the Wisconsin Library Commission for many years until her retirement. She was a quiet, gentle soul who had a great appreciation for nature and gardening. She lovingly cared for both of her parents as they aged, enabling them to remain in their own home for many years. Janice is survived by her sister, Diane Schumann; two nieces, Lauri (Michael) Saunders and Lisa (Erik) Schumann-Klein; two grand-nieces and a grand-nephew. She was preceded in death by a baby sister and her parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service at 5:30 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie. The Rev. Michael Tess will be officiating. A private burial will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pardeeville Cemetery. Memorials would be apprieciated to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin which was one of Janice's favorite charities.
