Madison - Janice E. Oliver, 59, died Aug 7th after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsa Oliver of Madison, and is survived by her sister Chris and brother-in-law Chuck Salisbury of St Charles, IL; her brother Tony and sister-in-law Joan Oliver of McHenry, IL; her niece Melissa and partner Melissa Bert and grand niece Alex Salisbury-Bert of Lincolnwood, IL; her nephew Brett of St Charles, IL; her Aunt Dorothy Pile of Louisville, Kentucky; cousins in Florida, California, and Utah; and her lifelong friend and guardian Angie Morgan of Madison, WI. Jan was born in Baggio, Phillipines and led a most interesting life. She grew up in Kansas City and later moved to Madison at the age of 9 where she attended Badger School and later St Coletta School in Jefferson, WI. Jan was involved in numerous community activities and enjoyed volunteering for the Dane County Democratic Party, working at Mad City Music Exchange on Williamson Street, wine tasting, hanging out at the Caribou, parties at the Nitty Gritty, attending Bethel Lutheran Church, karaoke, and bowling. She was an avid music fan and particularly enjoyed Elvis, BB King, 9 Inch Nails, and the Beatles. She leaves behind her many friends at Options in Community Living ("the Options"), her roommates Jennifer and Robin and good friend Kate.
A memorial service will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. with a reception to follow at the church. A private interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.
