Stoughton- Janice Mae (Gretebeck) Rein, age 71, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Stoughton Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born in Stoughton on February 25, 1938 to Clarence and Harriet (LaFleur) Gretebeck. Jan married Roland (Rollie) Wilmer Rein on July 30, 1955, in a joint ceremony with friends, at a chapel in Belvidere, Illinois. Throughout their 54-year marriage, Jan and Rollie lived on the Rein family farm in Pleasant Springs Township where they milked cows, raised tobacco and beef cattle. A gifted grower, Jan was known for her beautiful flower gardens.   In addition to working side-by-side with Rollie on the farm, Jan was a loving mother to three daughters and a son. She attended many of her children and grandchildren's sporting and extracurricular events, traveling great distances to do so. When her children were grown, Jan worked for South Central Publications and Stoughton Newspapers in a variety of roles and was a familiar face to those who visited the Main Street office of The Stoughton Courier Hub. Jan treasured her lifelong friendships, traditions, and trips with her Stoughton High School classmates. She was a member of Western Koshkonong Church, and enjoyed years of participation in local garden, homemakers, and card clubs.   Jan is survived by her husband, Rollie; daughters Rhonda (Bruce) LaZotte, Monica (Jeff) Morgan, and Kelly (Bob) Boyd, all of Stoughton, and son, Andy (Susy) Rein of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Kate and Kyle LaZotte, Gillian and Kelcie Morgan, Shaun and Jessica Boyd, all of Stoughton, Jenna Rein of California and Brady Rein of Illinois; brother, Clare Gretebeck; and several nieces and nephews.   Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruth Hinchley; brother-in-law, Keith Hinchley; and sister-in-law, Carol Gretebeck.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 11 a.m. at Western Koshkonong Church, 2633 Church Street, Cottage Grove, WI 53527. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Avenue, Stoughton, on Friday, January 15 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and also at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon for friends and family will be held at Western Koshkonong Church following the burial.     Jan was cherished and loved by her family and friends who will miss her kind heart, sense of humor, competitive nature, and adventurous spirit. The family thanks the staff at Stoughton Hospital and Hospice for the tender care they gave Jan in her final weeks. Also, many thanks for all the visits and prayers while Jan was in the hospital.
