Janice Young

Janice Elaine Young, 86, a resident of Kindred Hearts Memory Care, Cottage Grove, WI, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Janice was born in Osborn Township, Outagamie County, WI on July 3, 1934. After graduating from Seymour HS, she went on to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Home Economics from UW Stout. In 1975, she completed an accounting program with MATC and earned her accounting certificate.

Janice worked in various capacities before settling into auditing position with the State of Wisconsin until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, visiting state parks, and long walks at the UW Madison Arboretum. In her youth, she was an excellent seamstress: making dresses for herself and her daughters. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Portage WI.

Janice is survived by brothers Donald (Ann) Peotter and Kennen Peotter, her daughters Cynthia (Wesley) Pinchot and Annette (John) Schneider, her grandchildren G. David Rico, Tiffany (Ben) Werner and Allyson (Tiffany) Rico and four great grandchildren. She is further survived by niece and nephews Susan (Todd) Quick, Craig (Mary Robyn) Peotter and Steven (Kelly) Peotter.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Myrtle Peotter, sister Shirley Gara and daughter Marilyn Blackley-Braund.
