MADISON- Jean L. Carberry died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living facility in Oregon. She was born on June 21, 1920 in Madison to John and Catherine Beyler. She is survived by her loving son, Albert J. Pfahler (A.J.) of Madison, her sister-in-law Lorraine Pfahler and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Flataker, brother Daniel and twin brother John and grandson Albert V. Pfahler. Her first husband, Albert V. Pfahler, passed away in 1958. Her second husband, Thomas H. Carberry, passed away in 2005. Jean's places of work included Chadbourne Hall on the Madison campus and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue where she retired in 1982. For eight years after her retirement she was the secretary at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Jean was a kind and loving person with a wonderful sense of humor that stayed with her until the end of her life. Wise-cracking was her specialty. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Sienna Crest who gave her excellent care in a warm and comfortable environment. Also, special thanks to Agrace Hospice staff who watched over her this last year of her life.
Jean will be buried at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
