Jean Ellen Kappel

Jean Ellen Parman Kappel, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2011 surrounded by family at HospiceCare. Jean was a dearly loved wife, mother, sister and friend.
She grew up in Madison and attended the University of Wisconsin. Jean worked for the Easter Seal Society and later became a mother and homemaker which she took great pride in. Her interests included gardening and the art of flower arranging. Jean was an accredited flower show judge, a member of Daughters of the Nile, Zor Auxiliary, and Sunset Garden Club. She was a lifelong member of the Glenwood Moravian Church, and liked spending free time in Bonita Springs, Florida and Minocqua, Wisconsin.
Jean is survived by her sister Arlene Bradley; two sons, Karl and Jeffrey and five grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Kathleen, Krissy and John. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Otto Karl Kappel on May 5, 2006.
There will be a Visitation on Fri. May 6, 2011 from 10:00 until 11:00 a. m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a. m. at CRESS FUNERAL SERVICE, 3610 Speedway Road. Please join the family for refreshments following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Jean's name may be sent to Glenwood Moravian Church, 725 Gilmore St. Madison, WI 53711.
