Jean L (Haag) Ripp also known as “Mrs. Jean”, age 86 of Dane passed away on Thursday October 17, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 6, 1938 in the town of Dane on her family farm, daughter of Joseph L. Haag and Louise (Esser) Haag. Jean graduated from Lodi High School.
On June 10, 1958, she married Eugene Ripp at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dane. They had farmed on her family farm from 1962 until she moved into town in 2022 and became a “town girl”. Jean enjoyed spending time with family, quilting, playing cards but most of all, baking chocolate chip cookies to share with family.
Jean was 1 of 10 children, a hard-working farm wife with a spotless home, big family meals, drove tractor, ran errands, tended to a large garden for fall canning season and took care of her family.
Jean is survived by her children; Ken (Nancy) Ripp, Keith (Lori) Ripp, Colleen (Ken) Pertzborn, Kevin (Karen) Ripp, Christie (Chuck) Schaeffer, son-in-law Mike Mulcahy along with 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Jean is survived by sisters Louise Dresen, Barbara (John) Dresen along with in-laws Betty Haag, Marilyn Heimbecker, Tonie Ripp, Bob (Connie) Ripp, Eileen Ripp, Paulyn Ripp, Mary Jo (Ron) Mohr, Jim Acker, Lora (Mike) Restle, as well as many many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Louise Haag, in-laws Hardy and Evelyn Ripp, husband “Big Gene”, daughter Cathy Mulcahy, grandson Jay Mulcahy, brothers Cyril, Linus, Robert and Joseph Haag, sisters Evangeline Kalscheuer, Donna Werla, Venida Barman, in-laws, Laura Haag, MaryLou Haag, Gilbert Kalscheuer, Herb Werla, Don Barman, Vern Dresen, Nancy Haag, Leo Heimbecker, Jerry, Roy, Ruth Ripp and Letty Acker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Friday Oct. 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 109 South Military Rd in Dane.
Visitation will be held on Thursday Oct. 24, 2924 at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
