Madison -- Jean Mary Wagner, nee Eberhardt, age 88 passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009. She was born on July 30, 1920 to John and Clara (Slater) Eberhardt. In 1938, Jean graduated from New Lisbon High School and then attended UW-Madison. During WWII Jean worked for Pan American Airlines in Miami, Fl, where she was trained in operations and meteorology. On August 13, 1945, Jean was united in marriage to Eugene Wagner in Miami. The lived in Madison and Colorado Springs, CO before permanently moving to Madison, where she worked for the Neckerman Insurance Agency. She volunteered for her church and for 20 years for the American Red Cross. Jean was a member of the Madison Civics Club. She is survived by her daughter; Jan Heather Wagner of Appleton, WI, her brother; Richard (Marilyn) Eberhardt of Hanover, IL, many cousins in Wisconsin and Germany and also extended family in Evanston, WY. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her parents and brother Rodney Eberhardt. Memorial services will be held at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Loewenhagen officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midvale Community Lutheran Church, Attn: Parish Nurse Fund, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison, WI 53711 or the American Red Cross Southeastern in Wisconsin, P.O. Box 88711, Milwaukee, WI 53288-0711. The family would like to extend many thanks to Midvale Lutheran Church, parish nurse Peggy Bezruki, Pastor Bruce and Pastor Katie, Dr. Bernard Micke and the staff at Sebring Assisted Living for all the wonderful care given to Jean.
