Jeane Buggy (Regina Maria Barry) passed away surrounded by her family at Agrace Hospice on July 11, 2021. She was born on September 8, 1930 to Joseph and Florence (McGovern) Barry, the 5th of 6 children. She was a proud south side Chicago girl who married a north side Chicago boy who had returned from WWII. Jeane and John were married 59 years until his passing in 2010. It was a marriage of deep love and devotion.
Jeane loved her 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with all her heart and soul. After raising her children, she worked in data entry at UW-Madison and later for Gimbels/Marshall Fields. During retirement she and John traveled extensively and enjoyed time with their grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Jack (Mitzi) of Cross Plains, Michael (Monika) of La Crosse, Patrick (Kim) of Haymarket, VA, Kathleen (Rick) Schoepp of Waunakee and Susan (Pat) Connors of Timnath, CO; grandchildren, Katlyn Buggy, Sara (Shane) Sungkapan, John Buggy, Lily Buggy, Hunter Schoepp, Cole Schoepp, Kyle Connors and Will Connors; great grandchildren, Ethan, Max and Logan Sungkapan; dear sister-in-law Nancy Buggy and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brothers Joseph (Laura) Barry, Roger Barry, sisters Marion (John) Rohrer, Mildred (Micky) McCarthy, Babe (Ralph) Block, sister-in-law Betty Buggy and brothers-in-law Dick and Eugene Buggy. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Agrace for the exceptional care provided to our mother in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee, with Msgr. James Gunn presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org/donate).
