Jeanette H. Sherman

Jeanette H. (Jan) Sherman, age 91, passed away the morning of August 24^th, 2023.

She was born on December 24, 1931 in Cross Plains, WI., the daughter of Elmer and Myrtle Boehnen.

She was united in marriage to Allan N. Sherman on January 20, 1951. She was a graduate of Madison Central High School and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Jan enjoyed a long work history, working at Bancroft Dairy and Mautz Paint Co. early in here career before running a rooming house on North Francis Street, where she and Al housed foreign exchange students attending the University of Wisconsin. When the family moved to the west side of Madison in 1964, she started running an in-home day care for a many number of kids over the next 13 years. In 1980, she joined Snyder General Insurance Agency where she worked until retiring in 2014 at the age of 83! She truly enjoyed her time at Snyder, developing special friendships with her co-workers that she treasured right up to her passing.

Jan was an avid gardener, spending countless hours working on her flower gardens and harvesting seeds over the winters to be sown in the spring. It was her passion. Being born on Christmas Eve, she always looked forward to her special birthday dinners with family and friends during the holiday season. It was always a special time for her.

Jan is survived by her sons Jeffrey, James and John, all of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Al and her daughter Joni. Per her request, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life.

Her family would like to give a special Thank You! to Agrace for the exceptional care they provided Jan as she approached the end of her journey of life.
