In Loving Memory

Jeanette Ann (Ratzlow) Zimmerman, age 88, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Agrace in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on March 23, 1926 in the township of Sun Prairie at the Ratzlow Homestead, the daughter of Victor and Lenora (Knapton) Ratzlow. On February 2, 1946, she married Chester Zimmerman at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshall, WI. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2001. She farmed with her husband all her married life. She was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she was the organist for over 67 years. She also was a Sunday School teacher for many years and involved in Ladies Aide, choir and quilting. She and her husband sang at many weddings and funerals with their gifted voices. She was an avid gardener.

Survivors include her children: Janet Jordan of Madison; Duane (Betty) of Oswego, IL; Dennis (Tami) of Marshall; Joy Dunn of Island Lake, IL; Jeff of Deerfield; and Douglas (Lisa) of Deerfield; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two foster sisters, Dianne Tiedt of Columbus and Donna (Ken) Dorn of Waterloo; three sister-in-laws Leota Nelson of Sullivan, Freida Raether of Sun Prairie and Arlene Hauptli of Columbus. Further survivors include nieces and nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester, son Joseph, granddaughter Marsha and daughter-in-law Linda.

Funeral services will be on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 605 Madison Street, Marshall, with the Rev. Paul Anderson and the Rev. Bud Palmer officiating . Burial will be in Medina Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a. m. until time of service at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, Colonial Club Meals on Wheels program in Sun Prairie ,Medina Cemetery Association, Marshall Historical Society or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church WELCA.
