Jeffrey John Lange

Jeffrey John Lange, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2023. 

He was born on February 14, 1948 at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI to parents William Lange, and Bertaline Fetters Lange.  He has an older brother, Steve Lange.  He married Eileen “Dolly” Marsh on September 4, 1980 and resided in Madison.

At an early age Jeff Liked music and learned to play guitar.  In high school, he had a band called The Burgundys.  After attending college at UW-Madison, he helped others start a radio station and worked as the program director at the Station WORT, which still exists today.

After Jeff received his master’s degree, he worked for the department of information technology at UW-Madison until he retired in 2006.

His interest in music continued throughout his life, he maintained a vast music collection.  After retirement, he became interested in dancing and took dance lessons where he fell in love with the tango.  He and Dolly even traveled internationally to dance.  His other interests included collecting art, following American politics, travel, and maintaining his yard and garden, especially miniature evergreen trees. 

Per Jeff’s wishes no services will be held.

He is survived by his wife and brother, and multiple nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or the American Lung Association.
