Jeffrey Turner

MADISON - Jeffrey R. "Jeff" Turner, age 60, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac failure at his home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Jeff was born November 24, 1955 in Wyoming, Illinois to Charles "Lee" Helle and Phyllis Turner.

From a young age, Jeff, the eldest son, sheltered and cared for his mother and siblings. His love for cars developed early in the family's business, and it became his life-long vocation. Applying his automotive expertise and mentoring his employees at Midas of Madison, a thriving business he co-owned, was a culmination of this life-long passion.

Jeff's friends and family continue to find comfort and laughter in remembering his great sense of humor, voracious appetite for reading, camping, the joy he took in spending time with his friends and family and his undying love for da Bears.

Jeff passed on many loves to his two daughters including his love of science fiction and cars. Unfortunately, Jeff's youngest daughter rejected one of his greatest loves, the Chicago Bears, when she became a Minnesota Viking fan.

Jeff graduated from Belvidere High School. He continued his education at Concordia University where he met the greatest love of his life, his wife Krystal in 1998. Krystal and Jeff shared a love for travel and the two visited many places in the US, Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. Prior to their marriage, Jeff completed the construction of their home with Krystal's oversight and assistance.

Jeff and Krystal married on April 9, 2005 in Las Vegas. The couple spent his remaining years growing stronger together and built a life based on trust, joy, mutual support and most of all love.

Jeff is survived by his wife Krystal Wambold; two daughters, Charlotte (Chris) Hopper and Stephanie Turner; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Lee Helle; mother Phyllis Turner; siblings, Jerry (Tia) Helle, Teresa Sauther, Roberta (Dave) Starkey, Kendra (Bobby) Stephenson, Shawn (Todd) Schmidt, and Kathy (Kevin) Blair; a few dozen nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Chuck Turner.

His funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the CRESS CENTER, 6021 University Ave., Madison. A visitation will be held from 10 am until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
