Jerome Francis Chmielewski

Jerome Francis Chmielewski, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2008 at HospiceCare. Jerome was born on April 24, 19 29 in Saginaw , MI. He received a B.S., M.S., and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University . Jerome was a Lieutenant JG CEC US Navy Design Engineer at Pratt and Whitney. Jerome was a faculty member for 2 years at Ohio University in Athens , OH and at Pittsburg University for 29 years before retiring in 1991 as Professor Emeritus of the School of Engineering . While at Pittsburg , he was a visiting Professor at American University in Beirut . Jerome was also a consultant for the Sky-Bus Transportation System. Jerome is survived by his brother Walter; niece Stefanie (Gordon) Statz and their children Nicholas and Matthew; and many cousins in Michigan and Poland . He is also survived by Don and Jean Soltysiak of Murrysville , PA who he greatly appreciated. Jerome's family would like to thank HospiceCare for their wonderful care and support. Jerome's wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to HospiceCare Inc. 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway in Fitchburg .
