Jerrald Maynard Sessions (LT Colonel retired), age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in St Paul, Minnesota.

 Jerry was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 20, 1931 to Ralph and Dora Caroline (McCracken) Sessions. He graduated from Michigan State College, where he met his wife Donna “Jean” Thiryung. They married in 1952.

  Jerry spent 14 ½ years in Army Artillery, serving in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and overseas in Germany and Korea. He continued to teach Artillery in the reserves for an additional 14 ½ years. Upon leaving the army, he worked as the Budget Director for the State of Wisconsin Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

  He was a charter member of St Albert the Great Church and founding member of the Knights of Columbus Round Table in Sun Prairie Wi. Jerry enjoyed racquetball, golf, baseball, bowling and spending time working at the Round Table.

  Jerry is survived by his wife Jean; children Sandra (Rolf) Engwall, Edward (Rachel), Timothy (Jane), Kathryn (David) Gunness, Robert (Sara); grandchildren Abby, Mattie, Sarah, Bridget, Riley, Brian, Catie, Ben, Amy, Sam, Ian; great grandchildren Robert and Trigve; sibling Patricia and in-laws Lucy, Vera and Dorothy.

  Preceding him in death were his daughter Judith; siblings Owen, Ellen, Mike, Blaine and Frank.

  A visitation will be held from 9-11:00 am on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 at St.Albert the Great Church, 2420 St Albert the Great Dr., Sun Prairie with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am.  Jerry will be brought to his final place of rest at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens 1147, Clarmar Dr, Sun Prairie immediately following the Mass.

  There will be a Celebration of Life reception at the Knights of Columbus Round Table, 1611 N Bristol St, Sun Prairie following entombment (approximately 1PM).
