MADISON - Jerrold P. Gross, age 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare after a day spent with loving family and friends.
Jerry was born in New York City on April 7, 1940. Until his retirement, he worked as a policy analyst for the state of Wisconsin focusing on apprenticeship training programs, and as an attorney in private practice. He believed in justice and equality for all people, and was always concerned for others more than for himself. He deeply felt that people should expect government to provide services.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne, his children Steve Gross (Cordelia Martinez) and Miriam Gross, and his step-children Felice Rudin (Nathan), Pippa Borisy (Vadim Lando) and Alexis Borisy (Lia Meisinger), and his grandchildren Shoshana, Isaac, Samuel, Deborah, Maxim, Talya, David Zephyr, Gideon, and Harvey.
The funeral will be held at Cress Funeral Home (3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705) at 11:00 am Sunday, February 23, 2014 with Rabbi Joshua Ben Gideon officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens (7302 Mineral Point Rd, Madison, WI 53717).
The family wishes to thank the wonderful physicians and staff of UW Hospital and Clinics, especially the Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation Medicine teams, and the kind and gentle caregivers at Agrace HospiceCare.
The family requests that there be no flowers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, the Sierra Club, Beth Israel Center, or the Madison Jewish Federation.
