Jerry Albert Ripp age 88 Dane/Waunakee
May 10th, 1935 – March 13th, 2024. Jerry passed away peacefully at his Arizona home surrounded by loved ones after a very blessed and full life. He was born to Hardy Ripp and Evelyn (Dorn) Ripp of Waunakee.
Jerry always greeted everyone with a smile, loved to tell a joke or two, get a sing along going, and most times had some words of wisdom. He grew up in Waunakee running around with his siblings and friends trying not to get in trouble, helping out and Ripp’s bar, setting pins at Schmitty’s bowling alley, playing in six mile creek catching frogs and suckers and many other adventures. In his early teens the family moved out to the farm where he found his passion.
Jerry was married to the love of his life, Joycelyn (Tonie) Karls of Dane, on May 5th, 1960. Together they raised 13 children and began the legacy of Ripp’s Blue Ribbon Dairy. They built a great dairy farm and family. Jerry took a lot of pride in his work and was very devoted to building a great dairy herd and keeping afront of new technology by building a state of the art milking parlor in 1996. Jerry always had strong faith and trust in God even in hard times and was especially devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jerry loved his family, friends and farming. He enjoyed years of softball,
horseshoes, fishing, hunting, visiting casinos and playing lots of card games. Jerry was always singing and making people laugh. He noticed if you wore a new pair of shoes and would comment that you must be making money. Many times you could find him whistling a cheerful tune and sitting watching it rain.
Jerry is survived by his wife Joycelyn of 63 years, his children Joe (Diane), Dean (Deb), Mary Anne Brown, Dale, Albert (Mary), Jerry(Megan), Larry (Jenny), Jesse (Becky), Hardy, Joan (Spencer) McGowan, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings and in-laws, Marilyn Heimbecker, Bob(Connie), Paulyn, Mary Jo(Ron) Mohr and Lora(Mike) Restle, Jean Ripp, Eileen Ripp and Jim Acker
He is preceded in death by his sons, baby Dean, John and Rahn and his siblings, Eugene, Roy, Ruth, and Letty Acker
The Ripp family would like to thank everyone for all the thoughts and prayers we are truly blessed to have all of you and are deeply grateful.
A couple quotes from Jerry. "It is important to make someone happy first, make someone happy and you'll be happy too." "Knowledge speaks but wisdom listens" and "I love you exactly the way you are". Happy Trails and see you later, Dad.
