Jerry Sanders

Madison-Jerry Sanders, age 69, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg.  He was born on July 1, 1940 in Mississippi the son of Ed & Ida May Sanders.  Jerry has been a longtime resident of the Madison area.  He honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army.   Jerry was a longtime employee of General Motors. In his spare time he enjoyed being the neighborhood's mechanic working on anyone's car which needed attention.  He was a kind and generous man whose door was always open. He is survived by his children, Doris Sanders, Jerry Sanders Jr., Michael Sanders, Michelle Sanders, Angela Sanders, Troy Sanders and Christina Sanders; his grandchildren; a brother, Ed Sanders; and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his  life companion Glenda Rae Geraldine.  A gathering for his homecoming will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home 3325 E. Washington Ave.,, Madison with services starting at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating.
