Jerry B Tillett

December 22, 1936 — August 5, 2008

Trinity, FL:    Jerry B. Tillett, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at UW Hospital, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.   Jerry was born on Dec. 22, 1936, the son of LeRoy and Ruth (Thomas) Tillett in Logansport Indiana.   He was united in marriage to Jean Eisele on July 30, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio.   Jerry was a Miami University graduate, and was employed for 30 years by Armco Steel Company before his retirement to Florida.   He was a devoted and loving husband and father.   His other interests included golf and fishing, but these followed the love he had for his family.   Jerry was a member of East Lake United Methodist Church in Palm Harbor, FL., where his church family was very important to him.   Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean, daughters; Alice (Brenda), Madison, Jennifer, Los Angeles, CA, sister Jane (William) Overbey, a brother John and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Jimmy.   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 22, 2008 at East Lake United Methodist Church, 2801 East Lake Rd., Palm Harbor, FL.   In lieu of   flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to East Lake United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 2801 East Lake Rd., Palm Harbor, FL   34685, or UW Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center ""Creating Hope Campaign,""   600 Highland Ave., K4-658,   Madison, WI   53792.   The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of UW Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
