Verona: Jessica Strasia, age 43, passed away at home Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born November 9, 1980 the daughter of Tina (John) Schlough in Madison. Jessica married Rhys Strasia January 1, 2023 in Verona.

Jessica was the ultimate mom to a blended family making her kids feel special even with commonplace events. She loved to attend her children’s sporting events even if it meant being a golf caddy. Expanding the children’s horizons through travel was imperative.

Jessica loved to travel, hike, and entertain in her home. She was always up for a good time. Catching up with friends over appetizers and drinks or just a long walk was part of her daily routine. She had a way to make loved ones feel special. You could always count on her to be there. She was selfless. Her contagious smile could brighten any room with just her presence.

Jessica loved the holidays. She loved to decorate for the seasons, especially fall and Christmas. This was her favorite time of year. Also, she was a true fashionista though in a world of trends she remained a classic! 

Jessica and Rhys had traveled out West multiple times together. The mountains were calling her, and she was looking forward to retiring with Rhys in the Rocky Mountains.

Jessica is survived by her devoted husband Rhys, cherished children; Logan, Olivia, Dawson, Luke and Julia, sisters Erica (Kurt) Mulder, and Cassandra (Jesse) Schwartz, mother Tina (John) Schlough, mother-in-law Marsha Strasia, nieces; Avery, and Bria, nephews; Bennett, Brody, and Jayce, and grandparents Jerry and Linda McDonald. She was preceded in death by a special uncle, Mike McCulloch. 

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705 with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
