JAEGER, JIM D. "BUTCH"
SUN PRAIRIE-James D. "Butch" Jaeger, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. Jim was born on Nov. 17, 1940, in Milwaukee, the son of Martin B. and Etta (Hagenah) Jaeger. He was united in marriage to Karen (Meyer) on Nov. 16, 1993, at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Jim graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1959, and from UW-Madison. He was in the Marine Corps Reserves. Jim owned and operated Team Wisconsin Inc, and represented Hatch Building Supply as an Account Manager. He was a very passionate lifetime long-distance runner. Jim loved driving race cars and later became a public address announcer at races throughout the Midwest. He loved being a basketball and football referee and served as a sports announcer for Sun Prairie High School athletics for the last 40 years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 20 years, Karen; children, Gregg (Savina), Scott (Kim), Abigail Haven, Douglas Gilbertson, Jennifer (Rigo) Delgado, and Tim (Lisa) Rozman; five grandchildren, Alia, Talas, Tristan, Melody, and Brendan; and siblings, Isabel (Taft) Ring, John (Joan) Jaeger, and Jay (Gail) Jaeger.
Funeral services will be held at LIVING HOPE FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 411 N. Thompson Rd., Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. Visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of UW Hematology and Critical Care.
Memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Sun Prairie Athletic Department in memory of Jim.
