James "Animal" "Jim" Clayton Moen, age 52, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 14, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1966, in Madison, son to Jack and Alice (Munson) Moen. He was united in marriage to Doreen McElmurry on May 14, 1994, in Madison. Together they raised two children, Ariel and Jack.
Jim enjoyed working for Wisconsin Built in the shipping department. Previously he also enjoyed working with large animals as a Vet Tech. He will be remembered for his love of the Chicago Bears and his loyalty to his family and friends. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and competing in bass fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed watching his son wrestle, play football and run track. He was the past president of the Marshall Wrestling Club. The family will always cherish the time they had with Jim whether it be their family gatherings or massive fire pits.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Doreen; his children Ariel and Jack; his siblings Ronda Murray, Michelle (Michael) Moen, John (Sara Jo) Moen, Jackie (Tim) Russell and Melissa (Jeff) Page; he also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother in law Corey Murray.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Comfort Inn and Suites 4822 East Washington Avenue, Madison, on Sunday, January 20, 2019 starting at 11:00 a.m. with no set ending time.
The family would like to thank their extended family for their continued love and support.
