Joan Claire Jones

Joan Claire Jones (nee Hocks), longtime resident of Greendale, WI passed away on April 28^th, 2023 at the age of 86.  Beloved wife of Robert “Bobbies, Bob” for 63 years.  Loving mother of Amy (Paul) Zingsheim, Peggy, and Paul (Kathleen). Grandmother of Rebecca Lentz, Daniel Lentz, Kevin (Amanda) Lentz, and Tina Perez. Great grandmother to Skyler, Declan, Adrianna, Harleigh, Ezekiel, Eliah, Gavin, Devon, Julian, Lucia, and Indie. She also leaves behind other relatives and friends that will miss her open mind, open heart, and, of course, her wonderful cooking.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents Barney and Clara (nee Shermacher) and her siblings.

She loved going to the movies, reading about all the Hollywood acting legends, listening to Jazz, dancing and taking care of those she loved, especially Bob. Joan was a classy lady who was wonderful at talking to everyone she met and making them feel comfortable. She had a compassionate heart, feeling a deep connection and empathy for all people, animals, and even trees.

Joan died peacefully while receiving loving care from her family, the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and Agrace HospiceCare. 

She will be laid to rest with Bob at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.

A celebration of life for both Joan and Bob will be held in Milwaukee in the coming weeks.
