Joan Osborn

November 8, 1951 — January 16, 2025

Waunakee

Joan M Osborn, age 73, passed away on January 16th, 2025 surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

Joan was born on November 8th, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI to Willard and Virginia Bremser. She moved to Waunakee with her family in 1967, where she graduated from high school in 1970. After graduation, Joan went to work at CBI Central as a bank teller, which led to 42 years and multiple bank mergers, ending as a loan officer with BMO Harris.

In 1974 on a blind date, Joan met the love of her life and best friend, Rick Osborn. They were married on August 7th, 1976. After marriage, she took a short leave from the bank to team drive a semi with Rick, where they shared in many laughs and adventures. Two years later they moved to Dane and had their daughters, Amanda and Kristen.

Eventually they settled in Waunakee, where they became involved in the American Legion. Joan is a past president of the American Legion Auxillary Post 360 and also coordinated the Waunafest parade for many years.

One of her favorite past times was going to their campsite at Pineland Camping Park in Arkdale, WI where so many memories were made with her family and extended camping family. Joan was also a diehard Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks fan. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling in her younger years, and loved spending time with her family.

After retirement, Rick and Joan enjoyed vacationing in Florida and spending time with their daughters and three grandchildren, Jayden, Hadley, and Nash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Virginia Bremser, nephew Scott Bremser and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Rick, daughters Amanda (Patrick) Buttry and Kristen Osborn, grandchildren Jayden (14), Hadley (12), and Nash (8), sister Judy Bremser, brother Mike (Cheryl) Bremser, and nephew Paul (Dorena) Bremser.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UW hospital, especially Dr. Kerry Rees and Dr. Grace Blitzer, along with the staff of Agrace Hospice.
