Joan Mary Sanford

Madison-Joan Mary Sanford, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Joan was born in Madison; she married the love of her life, William and moved to New York until William retired when they returned to Madison. Joan is survived by her daughter, Kathy; sons, Kenneth and William (Sharon) and special ""adopted"" daughter Mary. She is further survived by two sisters, Marcia (Glenn) and Phyllis and numerous other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William; brothers, Harold and Robert and sister, Janet. Services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 7450 University Avenue, Middleton, WI. Visitation will held at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Capital Lakes Health Center and Assisted Living for all their care and kindness. To Joan's friend Phyllis, you are an angel on earth.
