McFarland

McFarland - Joan Schoepp, 90 of McFarland loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Joan was born December 28, 1932, to Vincent and Evelyn Hutter and was raised in Plain until moving to Middleton.  She met the love of her life while working at the Middleton movie theater and married Fred Joseph Schoepp of Waunakee on September 4, 1954.  The couple raised a family in Middleton, where she was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.

Joan was a kind and energetic mother that raised six children in a household filled with love.  Family was the center point of her life and everything she did was to ensure their health and happiness.  Her proudest accomplishment and greatest joy in life was creating a loving home for her family and raising and nurturing her children.

Her energy was boundless and never ending and she was always in motion.  Whether it was caring for her home and family or on the trail of an elusive garage sale.

In 1982, she and Fred moved to McFarland to their dream house in the country surrounded by wildlife.

She was a devote Catholic and member of Christ the King Catholic Church in McFarland.

Joan was preceded to heaven by her husband Fred, daughter Sandra (Bruce) Carroll and sisters Camila Engelberger and Bernice Hutter.  She is survived by her children Randal (Kara) Schoepp, Cynthia Schoepp, Melinda (Ron) Sweeney, Richard (Kathy) Schoepp, Jean Schoepp, seven grandchildren (Matt Sweeney, Sean Sweeney, Casey Carroll, Marissa (Schoepp) Bainbridge, Sarah Schoepp, Hunter Schoepp and Cole Schoepp), and three great-grandchildren (Grace Sweeney, Calvin Sweeney, and Evelyn Cardona-Sweeney).

Nothing was more important to Joan than family, she leaves a large void in all our lives, but we are consoled knowing that she is in heaven watching over us all.

A private family funeral will be held at Christ the King, Catholic Church in McFarland.

In remembrance of Joan’s life, the family asks that charitable donations be made to your favorite charity.

Please share your memories of Joan by posting in her guestbook.
