Madison -- Joan Evon Schultz, age 85 died Monday, July 5, 2010 at HospiceCare. Â Joan, known as ""Jo"", was born January 8, 1925 in New Hampshire, Ohio the daughter of Samuel and Margarite (Smith) Hover. Â Joan is survived by her beloved family; Emily Jean Schultz Merson, Richard Sam (Marie) Schultz, Thomas A (Ellen) Schultz, Richard M. Merson, and Linda Schultz; Grandchildren, Michelle Anne (Drew) Brody, Joshua C. Schultz and Denise Louise Merson; and great grandchildren, Ella Belle Schultz, Isaiah A. Brody, Solomon H. Schultz and Lindey Jane Brody. Â She was preceded in death by her most loving husband Alwin E Schultz, M.D. and sister Lois (Hover) Petit. When she was in nurses training at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio she met the love of her life, Alwin E. Schultz. Â She asked him to take her back to Wisconsin. Â She said this was the smartest thing she had ever done. Â They shared a life long friendship with the ""Fearsome Foursome"". Â Joan was active in her service with Attic Angels. Â She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bridge and the Chicago Cubs. Â Funeral services for Joan will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, WI 53703. Â A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Â Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Â Memorials in Joan's name may be gifted to The Salvation Army.
