Joan Wendt

Madison- Joan L. Wendt, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at home in Madison. She was born in Milwaukee in 1962 to John and Lou (Bunes) Wendt. Joan earned her Bachelor's degree in 1990 from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. Joan moved to Madison in 2006. She worked as a computer systems administrator and systems engineer and earned numerous certifications throughout her career in Milwaukee and Madison.
Joan loved spending time with her family and was so proud of her niece and nephew. She was an avid dog-trainer as a teen and her love for animals extended to numerous dogs and cats that she raised over her lifetime. Joan was very fond of the outdoors and frequently enjoyed camping and hiking in our beautiful State Parks.
Joan is survived by her partner of 10 years, Ann Valder of Madison; her brother Gary and his wife Julie and their children Lisa and Daniel, all of Middleton.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
